Chablis AOC : one of the most prestigious white wines of France

Chablis is a dry French white wine with an AOC originating from the wineyards around the village Chablis. The wineyards are situated on 4870 hectares. The wineyards enclose 17 municipalities with a length of 20 km and a breadth of 15 km. The appellation Chablis contains different ranges of quality from the Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru to the Chablis Grand Cru.

Chablis is a village located in the Northern region of Bourgogne. A village not far away from Paris, which gave his name to one of the world’s most appreciated and recognized French white wine. Chablis stands for a fresh white wine with an excellent combination between strenght and finesse.

The used grape variety for this wine is the Chardonnay : a European grape known fort its quality and good maturation potential.

Concerning the soil, the wineyards benefit from a strong geological heritage with a composition consisting of clay and limestone, small fossil oysters originating from the period when Bourgogne was a warm shallow sea.

Chablis is a quality white wine with a high density and colors ranging from clear gold yellow to gold yellow with green tints.The noze gives impressions of green apple, lemon, mint, acacia or drop. It’s a very dry white wine of great finesse with an unique and incomparable taste appreciated in the entire world. It can be drinked young but the aging gives it a light gold colour and a spicy note with great refreshing acids.
