2010 Rouge de Léoube, Château Léoube, Provence, France, Côtes de Provence

“To produce the best from what the land can give you with great affection and care…”

This is the owners’ motto. They have been owners of Domaine de Léoube for the last ten years, a domain with 560 hectares including 65 of vineyards and 20 of olive grove devoted to growing vines and olives in one of Europe's most beautiful protected sites.

The domain also has the advantage to dispose of a passionate winemaker: Romain Ott. In tune with lunar and seasonal cycles, he helped them rehabilitate traditional farming methods to, leading Léoube’s wines towards a sustainable and promising development.

A mixture of schist and clay characterizes the Château Léoube soils. The proximity of the sea, the daily sea breeze and cool nights are all factors that provide an ideal climate for growing grapes. A particular situation that contributes to making a wine that is out of common. The age of vines is 20 years.

To obtain a perfect sorting, harvesting is manual only. The grapes are transported directly to the winery where they are placed immediately in temperature-controlled vats. The fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks with 9 days of peel contact. Its natural development and conservation happens in concrete tanks for 9 months minimum.
