2010 Les Bambins, , France, Pic-Saint-Loup

Roger Mézy decided to take over the domain, abandoned in the post-war years , and reconnect with the family tradition. In 2000, 4 hectares of vineyard, located on a plot of 25 hectares, were fully planted, another 10 hectares were cleared and replanted.

The winery is built on the site of an old shed. One of Rogers two sons, Frederick, began to take a serious interest in the vineyard and to take over. In 2005, Frédéric acquired 6 hectares in the municipality of Fontanès on the terroir of La Roque, another 4 hectares of old Syrah were added, situated at the foot of the Pic Saint Loup in the municipality of Saint-Mathieu de Tréviers. The story continued, the succession was assured. Nowadays, Frederic, assisted by his brother Damian and with the support of their father Roger, presides over the destiny of the wines of Clos.

The vineyards of this wine are located in the municipalities of Triadou. The soils are clay-calcareous scree slopes from the Pic Saint Loup. Climatic conditions contribute to the specificity of this wine. Indeed, significant differences in temperature (warm days and cool nights especially) facilitate and boost maturation. Harmonious rainfall allows a favorable development of the quality of grapes.

Manual harvest with passage sorting table, stalking and crushing. Yield of 30 hectoliters per hectare. Ripening of nine months, rotating in two-wine barrels and stainless steel tanks under the control of the winemaker Frédéric and the oenologist Pascal Chatonnet.
