2011 Les Jardins de Soutard, Bordeaux, France, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru AOP

"Les Jardins de Soutard" is the second wine of the famous Château Soutard. This brand has been founded in 2001 and succeeds the name "Clos de la Tonnelle". It is property of Bertrand de Villaines, who took over this propriety of the Count of Ligneris.

The vineyard dates from the 18th century. It is located on a limestone plateau 800 meters from the center of Saint-Emilion and has a usable area of 22 hectares.

The soils are composed of 16 hectares of clay and limestone on the plateau, 2 hectares of clay hillsides and 4 hectares at the foot of the hills with sand grounds. The vines have an average of 35 years. The yield was 38 hl / hectare. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with a double wall. The ripening was done in 50% new barrels and 50% barrels of one wine. The methods of cultures are traditional, rational and ensure the utmost respect of the soil.
