Since more than half a century the winery Maggio combines, with passion, the love for their land with research and technological innovation in order to achieve, with respect for nature, quality Sicilian wines that are the expression of the terroir in which they were grown. Continuing the family history, Massimo and Barbara managed to combine experience, tradition and innovation in the selection of the grapes, vinification, ageing, bottling and marketing of the wines.
Rasula in Sicilian dialect literally translated means ‘the strip of land that separates two vineyards’.
The winery lies amidst the high hills of Madonie, 600m above sea level and its surface consists of red, sandy soil. The vines are 10 years of age and the yield per hectare is 100 hl.
The grape variety is organic. The wine ages for three months in steel and 1 month in the bottle.
