2010 Weingut Knipser Rosé, Pfalz, Germany, Pfalz
Since 1876 the Knipser wine estate has been located in Laumersheim, between the towns of Grünstadt and Bad Dürkheim.
The vineyards are situated in Laumersheim, Großkarlbach and Dirmstein, totalling 40 hectares.
The town of Laumersheim is well known for its long wine tradition. According to historic records of the Lorsch monastery a number of vineyards have been explicitly mentioned as a donation from Albulf in 769.
Knipser wan multiple awards like the German Red wine prize (awarded by the wine magazine VINUM), Vintner of the Year 2009 (awarded by wine guide Gault Millau) and Vintner of the Year 1996 (awarded by the German magazine ‘Der Feinschmecker’).
The majority of the rosé wines are made by the saigné technique whereby a certain amount of juice is bled from dark-skinned grapes that have just been crushed. The finished wines are concentrated in flavour and colouring and low in tannin making them easy to enjoy.
This wine is fermented in stainless steel tank starting from Cabernet and other red grapes. It is an excellent summer and autumn sipping wine. This rosé is fresh and easy-drinking.
