2008 Château L'Etoile de Salles, Bordeaux, France, Lalande-de-Pomerol
In the heart of the appellation Lalande de Pomerol, Château l'Etoile de Salles rubs shoulders with some of the world's most prestigious wines and the famous names which, together, make up the "wines of the Libournais" (Pomerol, Saint-Emilion and Fronsac).
The property of 10 hectares is situated on the western side of the appellation Lalande de Pomerol. Thanks to a temperate climate and an ancient stony soil which helps to retain the heat, the grapes can develop slowly in order to reach perfect maturity.
A thick layer of iron rich sub-soil, abundant in organic material, gives the wine its depth of character.
Matures during 12 to 14 months in barrels. Production of 25 000 bottles.
