2012 Villa Antinori, Tuscany, Italy, Toscana IGT

In 1928 Marquis Niccolò Antinori, using innovative thinking, created Villa Antinori with the idea of producing a Chianti suited for aging and improving with time. Due to its prominence, this wine needed a label and a name worthy of such a great project. Villa Antinori soon showed up in the wine cellars and on the tables of embassies, royal houses, grand hotels, and international restaurants.

In 2001 the evolution of Villa Antinori Red continued, passing from the Chianti Classico denomination to that of Tuscan IGT.

Villa Antinori is the result of a selection of grapes originating exclusively from the Antinori Estates in Tuscany: only grapes born, raised, ripened, and harvested on the Antinori Estates and vinified in their own cellars.

The Villa Antinori wines are born from traditional Tuscan grapes (such as Sangiovese for the Villa Antinori Red). They come from vines that, although not native, have developed maturity, elegance, and a typically Tuscan personality as a result of growing on the Antinori Estates.

Just as the wine evolves in a wooden barrel or in the bottle, the wine has also evolved in history: the 80 years of Villa Antinori (1928-2008) have been a long journey of evolution that has given life to a classic example of "Tuscanity".
