2003 Château Prieuré La Marzelle, Bordeaux, France, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Château Prieuré La Marzelle, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Contrôlé, the second brand belonging to Château La Marzelle, was re-instated as of 2003. It was in that year that the Sioen family (a Belgian family) purchased four hectares of excellent terroir from its immediate neighbor and 4 oak vats have been installed in an adjoining cellar. The wine was aged in oak barrels.

Since 2012, these four hectares have been integrated into the Grand Cru Classé land classification, although the original brand has been retained for the second wine.
