2009 Château Juguet, Bordeaux, France, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
Owned and managed by the Moueix family (of the famous Château Pétrus and La Fleur Pétrus), Juguet produces interesting and ample wines with good structure and minerality.
Château Juguet technically belongs to the commune of St. Pey d'Armens, located to the south of Saint-Emilion. The vines are approximately 25 years old and are grown on sandy clay which particularly suits the cabernet sauvignon grape, the reason why they use this grape in addition to the Cabernet franc and Merlot. In order to retain up front fruit and freshness the wines are only aged for 12 months in 10% - 15% new oak.
