1997 Château des Tours, Bordeaux, France, Montagne-Saint-Emilion

The Montagne Saint-Emilion appellation was created in 1922, which became AOC in 1936. It is situated between Pomerol in the east and Saint-Emilion in the south, the vineyards of Montagne Saint-Emilion are nestled in the most prestigious terroirs of Libourne and extends over 1600 ha.

The Château is situated in the South-East of the village Montagne-Saint-Emilion. The soil is composed of deep clay and lime.

The plantation of grapes on the vineyard is composed of 60 % Merlot, 20 % Cabernet Franc, 20 % Cabernet Sauvignon. In 1997 the vines were 35 years old. 

The wine ripened during 13 to 14 months on French oak barrels.
