2011 Chapelle de Potensac, Bordeaux, France, Médoc

The care given to the domain by Michel Delon, and then by his son Jean-Hubert since 2000, as well as the support of Michel Rolland for wine making have produced on a regular basis, one of the greatest wines of the appellation Médoc. This quality of Chateau Potensac has been recognized in 2003 when it was classified by the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc as the only wine of the Médoc appellation to the rank of Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.

Chapelle de Potensac : Before this wine was called Château Lassalle. This second wine of Château Potensac, owned by the Delon family, benefits from all the expertise of the team of Léoville-Las-Cases. Located on Ordonnac, the wine is stored in an old chapel. Chapellle de Potensac was created and marketed by Jean-Hubert Delon from the vintage 2002. This elegant second wine made in the respect for tradition has always a very nice balance based on roundness and freshness.
Lasalle itself became a hotel.

The soil is composed of gravel hills and chalky clay, some red clay also. The vineyard has an area of 57 hectares, located near the town of Saint-Yzans. The yield is 47 hectoliters per hectare. The blend is 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 66% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc.
