2024 Vin d'Alon, Domaine Grosbot-Barbara, Loire Valley, France, Saint-Pourçain AOC
Located in Cesset, in the heart of the Saint-Pourçain vineyard in Auvergne, Domaine Grosbot-Barbara is a family estate actively contributing to the qualitative revival of the appellation. Founded in 1996 through the partnership of Élie Grosbot and Denis Barbara, the estate now covers around 8.5 hectares spread across several villages of the vineyard.
The vines grow on a mosaic of clay-limestone, granitic and sandy soils, offering varied expressions of the local grape varieties. The estate is currently in conversion to organic farming.
For white wines, the house signature is based on the typical Saint-Pourçain blend of Chardonnay and Tressallier, the appellation’s historic grape variety. For reds, the focus is mainly on Gamay and Pinot Noir, with an emphasis on finesse, freshness and expression of the terroir.
An independent winegrower, Denis Barbara promotes an artisanal and committed approach, combining technical precision with a strong desire to highlight a historic vineyard.
