2014 Château Les Clottiers, Bordeaux, France, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux

The Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux is a white and red wine, classified in the category of still wines, sharing an appellation area of Blaye and Bourg vineyards. Its production covers an area of 6 700 ha, with a soil known as clay-limestone but also sandy and stony. Each year, 15,000 hl of Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux are distributed throughout the world.

The reds of the appellation are of deep color with a beautiful aromatic magnitude and a nice gustative richness. Qualified as soft, round and well balanced, they benefit, in addition to a good, thin and silky tannic support, from a solid structure. Moreover, they are renowned for their power and their charming fruity side. They are enjoyed before the meal and are excellent accompaniments for rich dishes such as red meats, duck breast, game or some cheeses. The Côtes-de-Blayes Bordeaux reds, mostly derived from Merlot, offer slightly spicy notes. Pleasant in their youth, they are much better after retention from three to eight years.
